Naomi R. Cromwell’s practice is diverse, with particular focus on municipal law, administrative law, wills, probates, insurance defense, personal injury litigation, and appellate work. Some of her most notable litigation cases have been in the areas of education and special education, personal injury defense, and inverse condemnation defense. Naomi is admitted to practice before the South Dakota Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Naomi is a 1999 graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Law. While in Law School, she was published in the South Dakota Law Review, and also served on the Board of Editors of the South Dakota Law Review. Immediately upon graduation from law school, Naomi served as a Hearing Examiner for the South Dakota Office of Hearing Examiners.

Following her graduation from USD School of Law, Naomi was honored to serve as law clerk for the Honorable Justice John K. Konenkamp of the South Dakota Supreme Court. Upon completing her clerkship, Naomi joined the legal staff of the South Dakota Division of Insurance, where she served as the Division’s General Counsel before joining Tieszen Law Office in 2005.

When she is not practicing law, Naomi enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, and occasionally testing her luck at catching a fish.
